Vintage aqua glass bottles
Vintage Aqua Glass Bottles - Set of 2
Two small vintage glass bottles in a beautiful translucent aqua blue-green glass.
The bottles have an unusual low, flattened shape with rounded shoulders, thick glass and a small opening at the top. Tiny air bubbles and slight irregularities can be seen within the glass – natural traces of the traditional manufacturing process that make each bottle slightly different.
I originally found these described as ink bottles, although I cannot confirm that this was their original purpose. Their unusual shape and beautiful aqua color were what caught my eye.
Today they offer plenty of possibilities for creative display. Their low profile makes them particularly suitable for small tabletop compositions – combine them with seashells, stones, flowers or other collected objects, or simply group the two bottles together where the light can pass through the colored glass.
They can also be transformed into small candle holders by adding a separate bottle-top candle insert that fits into the neck. With a candle and a few seasonal elements, the bottles can become part of a simple Christmas or winter table arrangement, while in summer the same aqua glass works beautifully with shells and other seaside finds.
The bottles are equally attractive displayed on their own.
This listing is for a set of 2 glass bottles. Candle holder inserts, candles and decorative accessories are not included.
Good vintage condition with signs of age and previous use. Small air bubbles and irregularities within the glass are part of the manufacturing process rather than damage.
