Vintage medical glass cupping jar
Vintage Medical Glass Cupping Jar – Rustic Glass Decor for Wellness or Styling
Cupping was a widely used method in the treatment of flu and cold illnesses.
In a typical cupping session, glass cups were warmed using cotton balls soaked in alcohol, which were then lit and placed inside the cup. Burning the substance inside removes the oxygen and creates a vacuum. The therapist then places the cups on the patient’s back about 3 cm apart for 10–15 minutes. The therapy opens the skin’s pores and activates the body’s natural cleansing process.
Today, these delicate greenish glass cups make poetic additions to your home. Group several together on a table with flowers, let them catch candlelight on a windowsill, or use them as miniature vases for a quiet natural arrangement.
Their thick, curved rims and hand-finished appearance bring a sense of history and calm to any rustic or cottagecore interior.
A beautiful reminder of past healing practices – now ready to hold flowers, light, or stories in your home
